Every so often
my little angel
takes one of her toys
wraps it up
and gives it to me.
Not for my birthday,
not for Christmas
just to see me smile.
With a kiss,
and a, "Mommy I love you"
she reaffirms my faith,
restores my hope
and warms my heart.
All with just a simple gift
wrapped up in plain paper
given with a smile.
Think what we could do
for an entire world
with the concept
of just a simple gift.
