banish any trace
of gloom.
Your poetry
gives us all
such pleasure.
Little Chippymunk
you are just
a treasure.
I'll be your pal
if you want
me to.
Be your sounding board
when you are
angry or blue.
Bring to you
your favourite treats,
Even give a massage
to your feets.

But since we
live so far
apart -
You will be
the friend
I comfort
in my heart.

Chris,
Lyra would be a fine friend, except for needing the foot massages a dozen times a day. She is a wonderful person and this is a fine tribute.
