Sun Slept

Sun slept in this morning
enabling me
an interlude of “back to bed.”

Oh,
there was light,
just not glow,
until now,
about 9:15,
when the yellow-green grass
lay in contrast
to the emerald green
of the shadows.

And the bright white
of the porch post
across the way
glistened to the day.

And the darkness
of the shadowed cross
against the amber-tinged
blue-gray of the morning sky.

I must seek the west,
where at 7:00 the moon
was still high.
No, it has set too low
for me to see from
ground’s vantage.
Maybe the rooftop
would provide
a better view,
but if it’s all the same to you
I’ll stay down here.
For a peek at the moon
from there
might be my last on this side
of the past.
And somehow, I don’t think it’s my time
to go, just yet.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

(sigh) Oh Virginia, you always have such wonderful perceptions of life, sweet friend, just like the planets we all make revolutions between the phases of time and sometimes it is just necessary to stop and freeze in the past before we allow gravity to make us spin again to the future! (big hugggsssss) This is wonderful, sweet friend, I love it, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Virginia, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Oh no, Virginia....it's not your "time to go just yet", sweet lady. You've got much more to teach all of us here.
Your poetry is so excellent, and I love the replies that you give. You teach in your own gentle way. By the way, I do keep notes of the teaching you leave me in your replies to me.
Thank you very much, Virginia, for being you.

As I read this my mind
mentally took apart
"glistened" and heard
glowing / listened

I liked this, Virginia.

Enjoyed the vision. I slept in today....all the way to 8:45. Awoke to snow and can't wait to take a long walk in this sun.

Ingriguing view from your side of the bedpost...enjoyed!
