But, I don't like you
right now.
Your stubbornness
leaves me feeling
outside of you.
I watch you hurt yourself
instead of
facing the issue.
That frightens me,
and, then
I feel hurt
and stubborn, too!
But, I love you.
Guess that's why
I'll say no more,
just give you time
...to grow...

Pat, just standing by and being quiet is sometimes the hardest kind of love to give. I guess we can only let then know we're here if they want us. Right? Thanks for sharing this poem this morning.

(sigh) Oh Patricia, I can understand this feeling, sweet friend, love always has its glitches and love is not meant to change someone but if one can better him or herself that only makes tolerance stronger than ever! A very real, and right, write! You really tell it like it is in your poems! I love that! By the responses you get, many people identify with what you convey in your poetry.

To everyone responding, thanks for taking the time and letting me know this too, has meaning to you. Actually, it was written when my son was a teen-ager and I wanted to throttle him but, good! It has worked for me (this poem) many times since, with various other people in my life.
