Though everyone knows Santa Claus, few've heard this story told,
of Christmas eve, some years ago, when stranded in the cold, Saint Nick had lost his way it seems, when Rudolfs' light went out,
I've evidence you wouldn't believe as to his where-abouts.

'Twas late on Christmas evening when a knock came at my door,
aroused from a deep slumber, I would rather have ignored,
that pounding, oh, so loudly, seemed as if inside my head'
I wrenched the door wide open,("bout then all I saw was red!)

'cept maybe for that white beard and those twinkling little eyes,
I hollered to my buddies "Hey , you've got to see this guys!"
"This guy looks just like Santa Claus, his out-fit's really cute!"
"Come in", I said without a pause, "and welcome to the "stute"

"You look like you could use a drink,"(I'd noticed his red nose)
"it's forty-eight below outside, you must be just 'bout froze!"
"Here, let me take your coat and hat, I'll ratchet up the fire."
"Oh Cratchit, vould you be so kind to schtop drugging ze choir?"

"Dey zound as if der forty-five vas played a tirty-tree,
just look at dem, dey're paralyzed, dey're even verse den me!"
"Now Zanta, you just rest a while, we'll take good care of you,
ve know that you're a busy man, oont have a lot to do."

As time went by the seven dwarves began to come around.
They really weren't much of a choir( 'twas hideous their sound!)
as one by one, they came back to, and saw our honored guest,
each made their wishes known to him,( now this part I like best!)

"Dear Santa," each of them began, "How nice of you to come."
"Here in the "stute", we don't need much, like out-side where you're from."
"We've talked it over 'mongst our-selves, and what we'd like from you's,
to take this present from us all, and go do what you do(s)!"

Und Zanta took the present and he donned his coat and hat.
So stunned he did not even speak,( can you imagine that?)
He placed a finger side his nose, and ran right back out-side,
Saint Nicholas, 'ol twinkle-toes, we watched him go with pride!"

The wind still blew quite fiercely and the snow was solid white,
our present was a battery , to help him on his flight,
we took it from the 'lectro-shock, to Cratchits' great dismay,
as far as I know santa still is using it these days.

The seven dwarves saved Christmas, that's a fact I'll not dispute.
Each year now, in our stockings, we get all good kinds of loot.
'Twas the greatest Christmas ever in the memory of the "stute"
"oont now ve don't get zapped no more, dat's better yet, to boot!

HAHA. Giving this one a holiday boot.
You are such a great storyteller.
All originals, no re-treads.

passing shadows and Midnitesun,
Thank you both for replying. I think the ghost of Christmas past took me back to visit the "stute", I've got a lot of memories
about that place.
