Speech turned mist then drifted to silent sea,
tone unknown, unseen since the grim blockade,
love jettisoned in an attempt to flee,
feeble fear from desire's fusilade

Love set sail alone through the salty air
o'er the curv'd world, 'neath the stormy skies,
risked the deeper plunge for a voyage where
it's sound unbound n'er drowns nor would capsize

In time the brine does not collect the tears
of restless nights, pain of the flame mirrored days,
for love when voiced to it's intended's ear
feels beaten numb and dead when they sail away

Passion's span has limits to it's journeys
'fore a cold and deafened earth inters ye.

A pleasure to read!

Quite beautiful in its sadness--shall I call out the Coast Guard???
