Moon, Shine Brightly (Decantera)

Moon, shine brightly o’er my shadowy gloom
Cast out the darkness, shed light on my past
Illume my spirits, fill this tired room
Fast succumbing to my heart’s void, so vast…

Why, oh why, must my soul constantly cry?
Cry for futility of asking why…

Vast is the darkness, yet it’s fading fast
Room I have left for someone to illume
Past the shell, you’ll find demons I’ve out-cast
Gloom, you’ve no chance in the light of the moon!

Poetry is:
Passion, imagination and intellect running together.

Aloha with warmest regards, Cheryl Stewart Koomoa

Oh this is so wonderful! I love it!
It is short and yet powerful and precise.
You offer such hope with these words.

And then, to think, the moon is only a reflection of the sun ;-)

Keep it up Poet, I loved it.
Always, GG

yes the moon can leave little room for gloom..or it can create the soft shadows we hide in...
I enjoyed...

Well I reflect what others said but they forgot to mention the rhyme scheme. That is very interesting.
Whoa! Going back to check that out again. Never saw it before.

Thanks for this.
Hugs and warm regards, Pat
