A Morning's Stretch I stretch upon this morning's wake through slatted shades, the dawn peeks through. I reach for one who is not there, desiring more, this want of you. "To love or not to love" is asked of me by me, each rise of day. I tempt the mirror with this view and linger long in vision's sway. To comfort me, I play the role, dancing silently with you. The smiles pretend this masquerade to feign connection, fed on cue. I live illusions, all I have, wishful thinking fantasized. I'm building castles in the air, until that nearness, realized. I'm painting moments in memories kiss, seeking contemplative thought. And as I touch this crystal piece I bring you back when time was caught. And every minute spoke your name addictive I, behind these walls, felt Juliet in shadows' wake, a Romeo, to whom I'd fall. Lost without, I sometimes feel. Abandoned once, I want nought more. I chance the feel to love again and hold this time as not before. Oh just to be, it's this I want. A song unsung, in need of tune. I sigh my pleasures, staged for one, await the next of seeing soon. M "Love is not blind - It sees more and not less, but because it sees more, it is willing to see less." |
