* * * *

You left me brokenhearted
In the ruins of our love
So desperate was I for answers
As I searched the skies above

My love for you had blossomed
And you promised me you'd stay
Now my heart lays torn and tattered
Since the day you went away

Your arms now held another
And my love was pushed aside
You cared little for my feelings
And didn't care how much I cried

I sit here in my sorrow
As the rain falls down the pane
I will not let love defeat me
For in time I'll love again

* * *

I should point out that this is
purely fiction and not written
about me or anyone else I know.

I am in motion
I am blue
Love is an ocean
I'm anchored in you

Sue:  Sad to read, but it does end on a hopeful note and knowing it is all from your imagination helps!

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Sue, I'm so happy this is just fictional to you, sweet friend, yet I couldn't help but cry reading this as I know others in the nworld who feel this way and my heart goes out to them all and hope they can find the heart to know they will find true love again! (sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend, this is so touching, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sue, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Enjoyed very much, thanks for sharing...Paul

Did you get to see the eclipse a couple of days ago in your beautiful country?
I heard about it on the news.

This is so beautiful, but so sad. It says perfectly what someone
in this situation would think, I'm sure.
I'm glad that it's not about you, friend.

Thank you all so very much for your replies.

Paul - The solar eclipse was seen over in the South of Australia which is about 800 kms from where I live in Melbourne.  I did see it on the news and it looked absolutely awesome.  I heard that the next one in ten years time will be in northern Queensland.  I did actually see one though back in the seventies and I must say it was such an eerie experience yet so fascinating.

Take care.......Sue

Hi Sue, Such feelings of sorrow in this poem; however, I was encouraged by the last lines.

So nicely written.

'... I will not let love defeat me
For in time I'll love again ...'

I heard on the news today that you still have no rain and the drought is becoming very severe. Darn, I hope it's not affecting your beautiful gardens. I'll see if Earth Angel and I can conjure up some rain for you.

Hugs, Marti

Hello Marti

You're not going to believe this but yesterday and throughout last night we had the heaviest downpour of rain which was so long overdue.  We have been praying for rain for months and now I'm wondering if you may have done a rain dance and caused all of this beautiful rain.  My garden hasn't faired too badly considering the dry conditions and the water restrictions and it is so fresh and alive this morning since the rain.

Take care......Sue

As in accordance with the footnote, sympathies are not offered!  I enjoyed reading this...it was familiarly rhythmic (goes nicely with the picture, too!).
