Happiness lies in his eyes,
Eyes that whisper, "I love you."

Lovers live on maybe's and might-be's
Or maybe I'm a Hopeless Romantic.
Victory comes with nothing more than a smile.
Everything tells me he wants me.
So, I hang onto every word.

My fragile heart is in his hands as,
Eternally, I am his.

He denies me another kiss,
Eating my torture, and drinking my pain.

Liar, Cheater, Bastard
Over and over, the names circle my head.
Violent tempers flare with a flame,
Every annoyance, every rage,
Seaps out of my brain.

My composure has come undone, and
Eloquence is lost.

Nothing breaks the obsession,though.
On the promise of love, I follow.
The Hopeless Romantic in me won't die.

Stunning first post! Bittersweet words. You are one of the very few left, may the hopeless romantics never become extinct.

Welcome to Passions, Ice Queen.  I think there are many romantics in this world, quite a few of them are here.  I enjoyed reading your poem.

I liked your first post and hope to see more of your poetry.
Oh, by the way....there are a lot of us "hopeless romantics"

Wow!  Y'all know how to make a gal feel welcome!!  I'm glad to be here, and I think all of us are hopeless romantics, b/c in this cynical world, how could you be a good poet without those romantic aspirations, and unattainable muses.

Seeya 'round guys.

PS Anyone around here hangout at Moontown or Poesie?

Ice_Queen,   ~WELCOME~

You definitely captured the full spectrum of love, from surrender and adoration to the other end of pure hatred and damnation. Enjoyed much.

Warm regards, Pat

Wow! This poem got to me! I understand it so well--but I must admit, that even though I am a hopeless romantic as well, I had to put my practical cap on my head for my own survival!---and guess what! It worked!

You really did a great job of expressing yourself!

~ warm hugs
