An Anorexic Ghost When I was six and in hospital: I saw the living dead. The skeletal figure was female: a gaunt face and paper thin skin, imprinted on my mind, an horrific image, her eyes were deep-set, dark and sunken, a face of the purest Melancholy, fading into a soul that was crawling away... I screamed in desperate terror, fled for my life, to mother, nuzzled my tear-stained face into her perfumed breast, prayed I was safe. Later, I learned that the undead was alive! she was sixteen and had three days to live, she was a person - she was dying. I struggled with my six-year-old mentality to understand what this meant, through infinite tears I locked her reality into my mind, a first true impression of death. Her ghostly image still sits, frail and lost in my head, a solid reminder of a mind in chaos - of a life cut with a stone and chipped too quickly away... Whoa! You grabbed my interest and pulled it right to the end! What a life-altering experience! One that is obviously still imprinted upon your mind! Very well written--and the content was spell-binding! EA |

frightening and gut-wrenching. "a face of purest melancholy" was the line that stuck out for me... that's a great description. it's our struggle for identity that leaves us all unknown |

(big hugggssssssss) Oh Natalie, I went through this exact same experience, sweet friend, I was going through severe depression from the age of 7 to 12 and almost committed suicide believing everywhere I walked was a skeleton to me, then I faced Him after He pulled me back and He has changed my life ever since! (sigh) God Bless You, I send many angel hugs of comfort your way, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Natalie, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..." |
