You reached me in your thoughts
the knight of my dreams
approached me in the moonlight
whispered touch caressing me.

Walked with me in the dark
until the sun started to smile
assured me of your return
a promised kept worth while

I patiently awaited
now we sit in mutual lust
I give you my gift of passion
evening spent..not long enough

a symbol of your reality
you hand me a golden rose
I prick my finger with the thorn
a trace of blood ... flows

until the sun is hidden
and the moon shares it light
I wait for your return
my dream " forever knight"

What attracted me to this poem was the medievil theme of the title. And while reading this, I could picture the events between a knight in shining armor and his fair maiden.

An appealing touch of Renaissance romance adds to this tender poem of love.

Salty, this is really beautiful. I can tell that you aren't

Where do I fill out the application?

(my armor is only slightly tarnished )

In all seriousness, Salty, you have done very well with this one. There's something about medeival times with their castles, Lords, ladies and knights that can make romanticism flow from one's pen....as you have done here.

Don't let that black knight Balladeer fool ya....ya just turned him on with your picture and those words ya used like passion and thorn and blood and all that....he's really a "love 'em and leave 'em type a guy...honestly....Ya need Sir Toerag....I'm so much better than all those wanna be knights.....Sir Galahad?....(Wuss)...(he sat around that round table so much, he gained a hundred and twenty pounds in one year and changed his name to Balladeer).....And as a lover?....Toerag's the best....Don Juan?....I hear he's gay now....actually the best lover was that other guy...I think they called him "Came-alot"......but he's dead ya know...

You make me laugh big time...are you sure Don Jauns gay and Camelots dead???
I'll have to cross them off my list. Hey  but Jaun and I are going shopping anyway.  All these wanna be knights running around here can drive a person crazy...ya know?
