December One

December one has come again
the sky is gray and damp.
It feels quite good to sit within
and light most ev’ry lamp.

The cats are cozied up somewhere
in yonder room or near
looking quite contented
that they’ve been let in here.

The weather’s not so cold outside,
as days of heretofore,
so it won’t be long before
I send them out the door.

Yet, when I lift them to their fates
they purr up loud and clear,
trying with all their might
to convince, I must leave them here.

Red snuggles, oh, so close,
to mark my chin for him,
Jet sucks up, to warm as toast,
the heat vent’s cozy rim.

Cat Ballou and Ling-Ling
stretch on the water bed
quite comfy this Sunday morn
that they’ve been finely fed.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

I don't like cats, however, between you and Linda, you are quickly changing my mind...

Love this poem....So appealing...

Thanks, Pat
