I wrote this one while I was at work and hopped up on triptophan (the stuff in turkey and milk that makes you tired). I had to work on Thanksgiving, which really sucks, but this is one of three products I came out with while writing on a napkin. Writing on different pieces of paper really does help inspiration I think... Napkin Poetry #3: My Endless Spirit Awake but still asleep this ethereal existence Probes my conciousness deep. Alive but not yet born you and I a pair forever together sworn. Numb but feeling every prick the world is my body my thoughts make it tick. Blissful But angry at the shallowness Angry at the Superficial Angry because it’s all a joke. Unaware But noticing every touch Every word of kindness I almost love you too much. Almost. |

This one made me smile...as anyone who has ever looked through my old notes will tell you--so many things written on those cheesy cocktail cartooned napkins--most illegible--and more than "triptophan" to blame I fear. And this? "Numb but feeling every prick the world is my body" Smiling, another bad habit of mine that came with the territory. Oh the things I type. Let me just say "enjoyed very much" and I'll go make some coffee now. geeez... |

yes, the superficial is a cruel joke sometimes, especially when your true love cant share the material world with you |
