Does somebody out there love me Is there anyone who cares? Your lives seem so very busy A heavy heart I often bear Please help me off this treadmill For I'm running out of time Won't someone hear my plea And throw me out a lifeline I feel like I'm in quicksand And sinking way too fast I'm afraid and feeling desperate This plea might be my last My mind can't seem to focus Of my life, I have lost sight I'm so confused and so uncertain I cry myself to sleep each night I need your help and guidance Before it is too late On the bench there lays a knife Which may well seal my fate * * * * I have read so many sad stories about young people who have lost their way in society and have thoughts of suicide.I think we should all try to be more compassionate and look for the warning signs before it is too late. Sue, you are always so compassionate. Society has become so "throw away" that children are raised knowing little to no permanence. Yet here are many of us reaching, searching, looking back for roots WE feel are missing in our own lives. Once one realizes that a precious moment is every breath one takes, is when one reaches out to give resuscitation to others. Bless your heart. |

Sue~ This is so touching. I like most everyone else have echoed your concerns many times. The times have changed, but we should never let our youth loose their direction in life...Paul [This message has been edited by Paul Wilson (11-26-2002 09:09 PM).] |

wow.....great job Sue. As one of those former "lost children" I KNOW this poem. I felt this poem. And yes.....I came to that very spot on the bench as well but I thank God every day now that I was strong enough to overcome it. Had I not.....>I wouldn't have my beautiful little girl right now. It is great to know that there are some beautiful hearts out there like yours that are able to feel compassion and love for the lost souls. They are so desperate in need of it. Thank you. |

I thank you all for your humbling replies. So often I try to put myself in the shoes of those less fortunate in the hope of making others stop and think that there are others much worse off than themselves. Lisann I was so very moved by your words and so pleased that you found light at the end of the tunnel and were able to rise above. I was going to email you but there was no address, so I'd like to share these quotes with you and hope you get to read them. "The glory of friendship is not the outstretched hand nor the kindly smile nor the joy of companionship. It is the spirited inspiration that comes to one when he discovers that someone else believes in him and is willing to trust him with his friendship" "One of the nost beautiful qualities of true friendship is to understand and to be understood" Take care Love Sue I am in motion |

![]() (tears fall down my cheeks) God Bless You, sweet friend, and you have done it so well, and I know because I used to be one of these hopeless souls, I was physically abused and almost committed suicide when I was 12, but I felt He pushed me back and that is how I became so understanding to Him! (big hugggsssssss) You are a true angel, sweet friend, your words of love always touch my heart, God Bless all the children of the world, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sue, thank you for sharing! ![]() May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..." |

yes sue, it was very kind and heartfelt. At first, I though it was about you, and it really made me want to cry. I am glad it wasn't about you. Sometimes people jump to conclusions and don't read the little notes at the bottem of poetry. You are a compassionate and loving person, and I send my wishes to you and anyone who feels this way. Life is too precious to throw away. Never be normal! [This message has been edited by Wind (11-27-2002 02:50 PM).] |

It's a tough and overwhelming problem at times, but yes, there is at least one, and as long as there is one, there is hope! |
