One moment can make all that difference
and that pause can be "just a second"
when life is in a bind
takes change don't you reckon?

Take the bull by the horns
make it a challenge not a bore
a moment to reflect on what's in store
or turn around and lock your door.

Given the tools to open life's chests
fly away from trees that held downy nests
when cradles rocked, the breeze was gentle
not now when challenges shake the foliage
at a glance... alighted to a new branch..
it's another day
life has it's balance
so the scales sway....

Ecrivan,

I like this a great deal. It is quite a thinking piece.

"Takes change..." means to me there is only ever one I can change and that is myself. Often, I've found changes in myself modifies the behavior of those around me.

Hopefully, we will have "Another Day"
ever improving and meeting life's challenges and accepting it's gifts.

I hope I didn't miscontrue any of your meaning. I use poems for a second, fitting them into my life. I try them on, wearing them for a moment and enjoy them a lot.

Just as I do this one. Thank you for sharing your talent with us.

Warm regards, Pat

Pat,

Pleased to hear that you do 'try them on' and see what meaning poems can give you. In this context I intended much of what you commented on plus:
we are held in life's sway so if you cling the nest that nurtured you all your life you won't be facing many of life's challenges if any

Sy,

yes the metaphor here was a wise choice.

Vandana

thank you for sharing

Ecrivan...Very well-thought out piece. Gave me pause to think...where my head and heart should be. Life is a challenge every day; but if we hide in our cocoon and never venture out our world becomes very limited.
