The hillside bears a smattering of errors that deemed not worth the tow or ambulance, inanimate last witnesses of terrors those moments where the fright masked muscles tensed. A kickplate that once welcome mat the doorway of the too slow diesel, gray, German made, crumpled once smooth wheel disc marked Chevrolet, blind rearview mirror, faded window shade, cliff hung, pristine, death defied antennae harpoons a now subtracted license frame, stark, a headrest time seems dyed of henna, an orphaned rim deformed, forever lame. The rusting wrack and ruined all unclaimed, cenotaphs to the lives turned back to clay festoon this hill their road's end beyond blame of the all too humans who'll ne'er pass this way. . . . Drive carefully this holiday season "Happy people have no history" - French Proverb [This message has been edited by RSWells (11-25-2002 02:53 PM).] |

~Give me another word for chilling, unnerving, these I'm just not happy with. You have reached, I have heard, I do, I hear. - Your poem Richard plays itself in front of me, each line a flash, fast and piercing, all in ending with a slow hang overhead and sighing. *Peace. |
