Lured by the label,
wrung by the words,
reckless, I sped
past the warning.

Peruse the mixture,
exalt ideal the harvest,
subtly ripen a taste.

While handling
the corkscrew
I ponder the cork.

Better, I suppose,
melting in the
intoxicating liquid
of your desire

than lingering
white spines
frozen in a cube.

Ahhhh, what better way to warm a chill, than from the inside, out--sip slowly and savor.

I really like this, but I didn't think it had anything to do with drinking.

I enjoy your poems, according to my own interpretation of them. Especially this one; it makes me grin.

Thanks for sharing your talent with us

Warm Regards, Pat

The fifth stanza leaves me begging the question of your intent, but I will wait to see what others say, and see if I can figure it out for myself...

suffice to say, you always write thinkers...

What a perfect verse!  You really have a way of reaching to the reader and leaving them wanting more.  I'm greedy.....
I want MORE.  Very well done Richard.

I sit here in a stuporours state of inebriation after the pleasure of imbibing your intoxicating words.

Excellent as always!
