Her Memories, His Karelanne |

Born in the wild of parents two A child of nature, a river’s ebb. Karelanne, this creature most fair A love found as two children run wild and free. Golden hair of flowing silk, eyes of blue that gleam in light. Curves beyond the wildest dreams a sparkling gem, God given sight. So many years of laughter, the scent of wild flowers in bloom. A fragrance that fired the passion of this man. Moments shared beneath a flowing fall. Resting on the smoothness of a hidden ledge. The lullabye of a roaring water. As two.....now sated....slept. Until.... One fateful night, their giggles and smiles shattered by a crash against a door. Men of greed, of gold filled lust.. Men of sin, men of terror.. Only darkness came to the eyes of one so tall. This gentle man of many cares... Not seeing the rape, the pillage... The shattering of a beauty's wares... Finding only a slender shape, lifeless.. upon the steps....she crawled to there.. They took some gold, from deep the mine They took a love, of one so fair. They took away, this beauty fine of golden tresses, her flowing hair. He stands there before the open glass and stares into the chilling night. He stands and remembers of this lass for whom he could not defend.... or fight.... A tear falls, as does the flow of crystal that hides a ledge, where memories lie... of Karelanne. Barry, So this was the beginning of the end. I hope she was not that: ~once in a lifetime mate~ .... surely he'll find a new love... (?) these poems are wonderful.... can't wait for the next. Re: this poem...I enjoyed the description of their first encounter, the waterfalls, etc. So romantic.... then so heartbreaking... so good! Thanks for these, Warm regards, Pat ..without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.. |
