I was sitting, drinking coffee, And sort of taking stock. Considering the life I've lived, And what the years have brought. I've worn my country's uniform, And tried the rodeo... And I've been nearly everywhere, That I desired to go. I've rode, and come to know and love That Arizona land. As wild, and pristine, to this day, As from Creation's hand. I've walked the beach on Waikiki, And crossed Mojave sand. And seen the snow-capped mountains, And the forests of our land. I've loved, and cried, and vowed and lied And everything between... I must confess I've come to love, The worst and best I've seen. I've loved my wife and raised my kids- Yet always been alone. I'm looking back on fifty years, How quickly they have flown! I'm not complaining, these are facts- I hope you understand, If faced with opportunity- I'd do it all again. |
