~*Hannah*~

Look at me – don’t be afraid
I’m more than what you see
I have a heart – it’s just like yours
Come on…you might like me

I know I might look different
From the other kids you know
But once you get to know me
Your love for me will grow

So, talk with me a little while
You’ll smile if you do
‘Cause I’m a special little girl
And God sent me to you

~vlraynes

Hannah is the daughter of a friend of mine,
and she is one of the most beautiful children,
both inside and out, that I have ever known.

She is beautiful..and your poem is a sweet tribute to her. Children with Down Syndrome are the true innocents in this world. They love without question and find joy in all things. You are blessed to have her in your life Vicky.

She sure is a sweetheart. Those that have worked around children who are special realize they give out way more love than any other child, as they are such a treat to be around.  Wait until she gets older and maybe she will enter the Special Olympics, which is a huge event here, cheered on by a lot of folks.  Unfortunately there are still those that think that looking away will make it go away, and that is so sad for them - not the child for not only do they give more love but also get it too more often than not   Vicky you are a sweetie for doing this for your friend, but also reminding others to give human kindness.  I applaud you.

very nice write for a special little friend..   it would be good if we were  taught from infancy that all people are different, not just the ones who look or act a little 'different'...
different is good ...

(tears fall down my cheeks) God Bless You, sweet friend, I know of Downs syndrome and it is so very sad how innocent children are treated who have it in school! My teacher has a friend who has it and I became great friends with him because I have Aspergers Syndrome, a disease that is high autism, and we both sympathized with each other and how it is special to be yourself and not to let others harass you! (big hugggsssssss) God Bless You, sweet firend, know Hannah is a special and gorgeous little girl and will forever be blessed as will all others who have this disease who face struggles, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Vicky, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Disease of any kind is a sad thing.  Down syndrome is there for an entire lifetime.  You're right, Vicky - Children with this affliction are the happiest, most fun loving kids you'll ever meet.  Knowing them is loving them....

Thanks for the reminder.  Hannah is beautiful...
