SALUTATIONS fellow poets of Piptalk. Last weekend my father got married! (woo hoo!) Despite the bad marriage he went through, he has still managed to find love w/ somebody and i respect him for that. He really set a beatiful example for me. At the wedding reception, (which was on the beach @ the hamptons in long island!), i got up during the toast and read this poem that i penned together the day before. My dad (kevin) and christine realy enjoyed it. Here it goes...

(no title)

From person to person,
Love survives,
What the two of you have will never die.

The heavens will heed the prayers we send,
Bestowing upon your hearts sweet amend,
So, humbly and truly,
with arms open wide,
Know that no one of us - ever died,
but lived on in sweet miracle,
in Love's sacred ground.
We celebrate love again found.

So travel with us, in glorious bliss,
Shall we stick by each other as long as we live?
Shall we always remember to hold our love close?
You two seem to know what matters the most.

So on with the toast!
To Christine and Kevin,
For remembering how we all never left heaven.

I have sent you nothing but angels, and I have placed nothing but miracles before you.

That you did this, for your father, means more to him, and his new bride, than might be apparent, at first.  But time will tell, your father will one day talk to the woman that you want to make your wife, and he will say, "my son speaks with this heart, take heed, and listen well."

Without a doubt, that must have been your father's favorite wedding present--and having heard it from his son's lips would have made it even more special.

Congratulations to your Dad and his new bride!

And congratulations to you for your wonderful contribution to their wedding!
