Moonlit dawn fills the room
As you slip away
Candles full of dripping wax
Remind me of our play
The smell of you still lingers in
The pillow case I hold
My ears still ring of love words
Sing and of stories told of old

The youth in me is released
When I think of your return
A meal, a feast will be in wait
For calories you will burn
A drink in etched glass goblet
Will moisten your parched lips
When next we meet I'll greet you
with the magic of my kiss

Very nice
I think this fits in well with my poem of today
The first of small group,
Where mine takes the view of the warrior that leaves
Yours is of the lady that waits.

Enjoyed it

Deliciously sensual, alluring..

Sounds like an invitation that would be eagerly accepted again and again.....

'The smell of you still lingers in
The pillow case I hold'

I love this passage the most, outside of food or things foul the sense of smell is often forgotten. But what a trigger of memories and emotions it is. Beautiful poem!

Smiling at the way you burn those extra holiday calories. Well done, nice rhythm to this.
