Selving I often think, "what brought me to..." and "why I'm not", disposed I feel. I often ask unto myself "what is for me" and "what is real?" My words are lost in some beyond, I can't retrieve what use to be. I often sigh in wordless sounds, a sense of loss, it seems to me. A right of passage, some would say in poet's corner, I hide each day. A write of passage, a fading moon a plea that haunts each morning's "soon..." Soon I say, soon will come, each phase presents its layered self. Horizons come, horizons go. I glance my past that sits on shelf. I feel it more than once before, I sometimes wish "return me there..." There, where life I loved before, But now I know, there is no more. Some would say "move on...it's done" yet here I sit alone, just one. And no matter what the outer reads the inner me still bruises, bleeds. So tears will come, this day and then tomorrow's light will shine again. And I will rise, and stretch to be the me of more, an added she. M "Love is not blind - It sees more and not less, but because it sees more, it is willing to see less." |

Maureen, this is a beautifully sad poem. All I can say is, I know, I've been there, and still am at times. Life can be sad, but for me, mixed in were times of joy. Those are the times I live for. ![]() |

Maureen, you write such beautiful poetry, as you ponder your thoughts. Without really happy times in love, there wouldn't be such really sad times in love. Right? I'm so glad that we have happy times to help us cope with the sad ones. Thanks for sharing your feelings. With Love To All, Ethel |

I always wondered what one means when they respond that something is poignant...'tis a strange word to me ![]() Donna, thanks ..I am trying, some days are worse than others...I am waiting for the good ones that are around the bend. WR ..for some reason when gathering things to sell or put away from one lifetime, I am wishing for it back...even though I know it is gone and sometimes it seems easier to take and live with hurt and not have to make such a big change in ones life but I know that isn't true either...I am just tired today, it's one of those cold mornings when I wish to crawl back into bed and am trying not to do so. Hugss back Professor Gloom, I ponder much more than you will ever know..and it does sound better in poetic means than if one was here to see my pondering face. Thank you, G ss, I feel the same about others words I read too, even if sad. Ethel, thank you. Oh I remember the happy times too well..that is my problem I think. Thank you for the kind words Maureen by the way Long John..why is it that only you and Balladeer spell my name Maurine... hmmmm [This message has been edited by nakdthoughts (10-15-2002 12:04 PM).] |

There are so many clever lines in this poem, that if I started writing them down, I'd end up having repeated the whole poem!---Seriously! On the bright side of your dark cloud, there lies a vast amount of stored emotion that bodes very well for your writing! I suppose it's true what they say, "Every cloud has a silver lining!" Linda |
