Once the stars softly shone
brilliant against a dark night sky.
Twinkling their joy, and never alone
a glimmer strong within one’s eye.

Once the heavens brought to earth
a gift of wings, soft and so white.
Left upon a morning’s birth
beneath then dwindling starlight.

Oh, to hold this light of ages,
to touch the now darkest edge.
To be of one those born sages
to write, to dig poetic dredge..

Give but that which is given
these hands in wisdom foretold.
Leave them soft, not be driven,
for this, these hands will hold.

I’ll wish the night upon the gleam
of whitest bright in comet’s tail.
I’ll write a song of crystal stream
as mountains high a love will scale.

And when the morrow breaks the chill
of frost then left the wetting dew.
I’ll write of love against the trill
of songs that sing, that tell of two.

Meter, Schmeter,  blast the count
let the words flow from the fount.
I left my fingers out of this
and that is how it is,  is Tis!

Somehow, your fingers play these strings in harmony so well...couldn't expect that you would remain unattached to the starlight.

(giggles in delight) Yeah, you go boy, can those meter-meisters with the poetic justice of poetic freedom! LOL! This is delightful, sweet friend, the beauty of the stars or the kisses from a fountain are speechless to be described in iambic pentameter so always write how your heart feels! This is splendid, sweet friend, I love it, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Barry, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Retire the counting meter masters
write them down in your own style
enthrall us with your words, then after
Cause your readers to delight in smiles

Purely wonderful stuff Barry!
