The cold gushes

      u              a      o
nI         and                u
                     .      n
                         d

Seventy degrees
and I grab
for       my slippers.

The sun rises
higher/brighter/hotter.

dog's bark is
Strangled by the
Heat
of the lazy
thursday after-
noon.
His dalmation
spotsmeltingtogether.
Panting [gasping?]

How high has the
mercury climbed
on the
other side
of the window pane?

Sixty eight degrees -
I nestle my toes
deeper, InTo that
fuzzy black cocoon.
A blanket would be nice...

whimper
    whimper

nomorewaterinthebowl.

Why have they left
him      alone?
It's a 'scorcher of a day'
[or so the weatherman would say]
when the air's too heavy
to take even the sweat
off the back of
your neck.

[a loaded shotgun]

Sixty six degrees.
I should really Stop[!]
playing with
the thermostat.

It's a little too cold in here.

/jen/

i'm so bitterly disappointed.  betty, i think it's time you leave now.

Chilling out again? Now go have a candlelight warm mineral salts bath, put on some soothing tunes, and stroke that Dalmatians belly 'till dawn.

Feel better now?

If heat rises, then why isn't this at the top?

And which god gave me my brain?

"nomorewaterinthebowl."

May I have your muse for a while? I'm sure you wont miss it . I love the pictures you put into my head when I read your work. You do good stuff in there...now if only I could get something out that sounded remotely like that

Are you scared?                                      BOO! Are you now?
