There're times when one must realize the facts for what they are,
and make no further compromise, albeit in the name of fun.
'lest principles be sacrificed and leave un-sightly scars,
it is for this one reason my "attacks" on "Deer" are done.

There can be no good out-come to a "battle" waged as this.
Good conscience states (perhaps, too late) I may have crossed the line.
Were I not to acknowledge that, then I would be re-miss,
and forced to take a lower road than I would have as mine.

I'll make no false apologies, nor ask for quarter here,
but, merely state the obvious for all who care to look.
I chose this form on purpose, which I learned from Balladeer,
'cause imitation still is flattery in any book.

Enjoyed.

I wish to become a great poet some day, but it will only come in time. Til then, I shall write my poems, and wait.

Well.

Hmmm.

I never thought you went too far.

But then they tell me I'm a bad judge of such things.

I've been enjoying the poetic joust, and yes, Balladeer is second poet here that I "studied." (Michael Anderson would be the first.) I've learned much from them both, and say thank you so much that I'm probably embarrassing them.

You are on my "study" list too. I watch you...and I see you in the workshops and take note of your constant challenges to yourself. You persevere and your writing inspires. So, thanks Doc...

I didn't know it was possible to go too far with our Deer one, but maybe I missed something you wrote?

Connel,
Thank you.

Serenity,
Much as I would say about yours, thanks. My
inferance about "going too far" would be a combination of the fact that although I admire a great many poets here, I can't prevent my ego from taking control of what I write in these situations. What can I say,
other than I should not indulge myself in this type of writing, as it will always degenerate to the point where I no longer get any satisfaction from it.
Does that make any sense?
Doc

Midnitesun,
Thanks, and please see above.
Doc
