As balladeer walked on the beach an object caught his eye,
(now this might seem like quite a reach, but what the heck, I'll try !)
A brightly colored bottle lay there gleaming on the sand,
as Balladeer was tired and hot, he grabbed it with both hands.

"I'm saved" said he with utter glee,"at last, something to drink!"
( I'd hate to burst his bubble, gee, but it ain't what he thinks !)
Instead of cool refreshment when at last he pulled the cork,
on paper four small letters spelled one single word out,"DORK"!

Ol' Balladeer was furious, "Who dares to call me this !"
A flock of seagulls, curious, let fly and not one missed.
Poor "Deer's" head it was covered in a pile of steaming yuck!
So intent on all his scheming, he'd mis-read my warning..."DUCK"!

The moral of this story might be lost on Balladeer,
it seems that quite a bit of s**t is still between his ears.

ROFL... I need my glasses changed and so I can sympathize with misreading a simple word. *G* Fortunately, I've not encountered such consequences. *G* This is great, Doc! *S*

Kethry, Stubby, Noah, suthern, Midnite, Lyra,
and if I'd  missed one, we'd have the seven dwarfs! Just kidding, thank you all so much.
To put it bluntly, I feel like such an ass!
I'm relatively sure that I would keep on writing whether anyone replied or not, yet admit to seeking recognition, this is my conundrum. Do I continually apologise for not answering others' works? Everyone is busy,
how do they find the time that I don't?
I'm afraid that I don't have any answers for this. Thank you all again for your toleration.

In Toerags mind this is classy literature
Anything that covers Baladeer in compliments made of the right stuff.
You did a good job of that, DR. Poor Deer is being hit from all angles. I wouldn't mess too much with him. His pen is pretty sharp.
WEll done, my friend

Toerag,
I really am starting to admire your taste in poetry, LOL. Tried to draw "Deer" out, got a couple of meager replies, maybe we sense that we're too much alike, who knows? It was fun while it lasted. I guess he'll pickin' on you guys again soon.
Doc

Elizabeth (E),
So good to hear from you. Yes, I agree, he does have a sharp wit, and pen to back it up.
All the more fun.

Tammy,
Thanks, if I didn't admire Balladeers' work so much, I would never have started this. When you are at the top of your game you always seem to attract a few slings and arrows.
