Its not easy being a cadet... being a white male among one of several hundred Where is the Individualism that I once knew so well...? Replaced with Conformity..... I rebel against the common goal and go my own way.....against the grain I ask myself "Where remains my own sense of identity floating in the seas of monotony"? I need change like I need a winning lottery ticket... but still I refuse to leave... and yet I could go....to the depths of the Amazon drifting on never ending rivers or maybe I'd go chill out on a sunny beached island somewhere near Jamaica or even in the vast Pacific. Sippin on Daqueris and playin with the little umbrellas in those MaiTais... just thinkin about nothin at all except maybe that winning lottery ticket Steel Drums and vox organs keep my rhythm flowing as clear as a Carribean night and I stare getting high on the light radiating stars The beat is perfect, so pure I reach out for another little cigarette and soak up breezy atmospheres of sun splashed calming winds carressing the suntanned shoulders of the natives.....friendly people! I am in a far away place that they must call Heaven Drifters roam as my own soul Moving to the harmony that plays on past the finality of dusk so I sit back......and smile But as quickly as my trance began I found myself sent back to this battlement that I call home where there is no soothing ocean winds to wrap around me close and the beaming colorful people are once again so far away now replaced by the same old drab group I need to breathe as my soul does when my body can't leave... Drifting on forever with the island music that plays on and on and on... -Jedi |

Sigh. The island music, the ocean breeze, the happy people. The whole dream experience was nice, but face it, if you lived there you'd only think about the bugs and the sunburn. Nan (Pilgrim variety) |
