To know your touch is to know the dew of morning's bending light upon stone walked. Each forward step I step closer to you near the stairs where we once sat and talked. If but the sky would shake anew some rain in drops' cascade upon the waiting street then you would out of doors cross by the pane and enter cafe where our words find meet. Dark drinks would warm the coldness of our hands. The rain would place gray diamonds in your hair. I would tell you of the hills and lands where I travel well beyond your care. Alas, I know that day is not to be. For you are still with him, and I with me. |

I agree, this is sure a poem that could easily be published, and it is simply fantastic Mike. The feelings it evokes are incredible in such a short poem, I loved it, and the style you wrote it in. |
