I ponder ceaseless On calm lake in moon’s caress As night creeps older And the air settles colder Mist grows around me Till the shore I barely see The lights winking out Leaving darkness all about But for the night lights Stars years away burning bright. The sliver of moon Slips behind the mountain soon In it’s slow move haste As if there’s no time to waste Leaving me moonless, Mist bound in the near darkness. I listen to sound Leaving the fishing pole down, Not disturbing lake No care for the fish to take Just casting a net Of thoughts to see what I get, Then the pondering Of whatever the night brings Till the next morning birds sings. I like the kind of carefree attitude of it, the different line lengths etc. It's peaceful in a kind of pensive way. |

Thank you, blues hearted lady, Pleased you liked it, The format is of a solitary Choka (Japanese Form) The theme is inspired by Chinese T’ang Dynasty poetry Which lends that Zen feel to the mood. Thank you, regards2you, Glad you enjoyed my words Gloom |

Then the pondering Of whatever the night brings Till the next morning birds sings. I especially found these words inviting... Till the next... M |
