 (For my sweet love Joanna and inspired by our sweet Earth Angel!  )Unicorn Leaping By: Noah Eaton 11/5/02 Genuflecting on your nightingale song I can't tell Ursa Major from Ursa Minor Both constellations seem just as bright to me When I watch as your green eyes shimmer Ophiuchus can't charm the serpents as you do You set Andromeda free with one pirouetting kiss So love, give me your hand, we'll go leaping with the unicorns Deep in the merengue heavens caressed by your fingertips Carefree cheerful cherubs chortle over your connubial castles Amorously admiring with argus-eyed affection your ascending aureole Hipparchus could never rank your brightness with the other stars Prima facie, I felt an avatar of a lost boys smile through your red velvet carol And through your billet-doux I knew the afterglow you give is true Your heart beats in my head, a vagary flying like a badminton birdee So fast I can't explain what only God can, of how I deeply love you Pantheon is too small a place to commemorate the anatomy of your grace So I'll start from scratch and I promise I won't skip a detail Free of any manicure, foofaraw, or pulchritude Because God made you with all of the beautiful gifts that couldn't fit in any idyll Come sweetheart, we'll go unicorn leaping Through the bubblegum spiderwebs we'll gallop and wail And against the blueberries and cream horizons I'll caress your joyous diamond tears under your starry veil Unicorn leaping... Holding you in my lap, suckling your sweet kiss of candy As I tuck you into white dreams Married together on this chariot ride Married within your eyes aposelene...
