Like the egos who sought to "discover" new lands only to find darker humans already there I scour libraries for poetic fodder. And like the egos who "discovered" primitives a century past, Gauguin, Picasso or Cassatt of fifty years ago I too slide down the roots to the caves of Altimira, Lascaux which like my lonely soul bear only fading petroglyphs of lost desires, graffito resembling names, spirits no longer substance or echoes despite my scratching them there in the hopes of keeping them in me. Symbolist caricatures, expressions of miserable urban man who somewhere in the mix of modern dance traded shoes and cannot follow. Loves and loses, Loves and loses. Recasting relics unlearned in the simple lesson that past is past the rest weak imitations. That not peasant nor child can recall it but only would insanity. |

Excellent narration of the poet's angst, and the insanity of the nature of the human beast; repeating the same behaviours throughout the ages, yet we each expect to improve upon the results. |

Whatever you write from your "fodder" found I am sure will be time you sent well in producing a first rate piece of poetry, but if you get stuck, you could always do another ode to B. |

Dear reader, I apologize. It wasn't Cassatt but O'Keefe I wished to group in those who emulated man's more primitive stages. I read of both gifted artists on the same day and confused myself as to style. Thank you in advance for your forgiveness. |
