Girl I came home early, You thought I was workin, two glasses on the table cigarettes still burnin, I heard the back door slam, footsteps on the run Your hair was a mess Ya had buttons undone Chorus: Well I just came home to say good bye and tell you this fool ain't so blind I got a new place to stay today Got the cable hooked up and my rent is paid Gonna watch old movies where love was true and forgive my heart for loving you. You put up a front, But I read your face, One look in your eyes sent the truth my way I could smell cologne The kind I don't use You turned way from me but you knew I knew Chorus: Girl I just came home to say good bye and tell you this fool ain't so blind I got a new place to stay today Got the cable hooked up and my rent is paid Gonna watch old movies where love was true and forgive my heart for loving you. Outstanding lyrics! ET, glad you called home to share this one. But I hope it isn't a personal flat note. |

Ethome, this is a perfectly beautiful, yet sad, love song. Hope it's just from "observation" and not "participation". Thanks for sharing with us. ~With Love And Hugs! Ethel |
