Listening To The Other - Breathe You lay on your side of the bed, me on mine - an ocean of space between - anger spread us apart, hurt holds us that way, pride stays the desire to be first, ache makes us want to reach out, to touch, to comfort, to love... You lay on your side of the bed, me on mine - an ocean of space between - night wears on, neither of us sleep - listening to the other - breathe... Jimmy Sometimes the space on a bed between two can be the size of the sierra desert. That's the problem with king-sized. You have described the feeling of isolation here so very well...so close, yet so far. Good to see you posting! |

A night remembered without fondness, captured precisely. No matter how good looking she is... someone, somewhere is glad she's gone. |

(big hugggsssssss) Oh James, this is so very true, sweet friend, it could feel so instant and then youn can't help but wondering when the others head is turned away if there are tears or frustration or unexpressed grief! (sad sigh) This is very sentimental, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet James, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! All the more reason to sleep in a smaller bed? I bought an electric blanket years ago, and my significent other didn't want to cuddle as often after that. So in desperation I gave that blanket to the thrift store, to save my relationship. Never mind, it didn't work for me, it was too late. But I do understand that stand-off routine, and wish you both less separate breathing space. [This message has been edited by Midnitesun (11-01-2002 08:56 PM).] |

Ah, my friends, appreciate your comments and thoughts...and, as usual, this piece is not about me, though there may well be space between us in bed (kingsized)and I'm a very light sleeper, that space is well filled with love and all that goes with it. jimmy |

jwesley...my old friend, this was just such an exquisite poem. Exquisite because it spoke so loudly and clearly of the long night when anger kept love at bay. ***Ivy Rose*** |

James, like Linda, I had the advantage of reading your reply before I posted mine. THANK GOODNESS!! I would've probably gone on and on with my long- winded reply, like I so often do.... Well, I'll just say in this short, little sweet way, that it takes real talent to write like this just from observation......sure am glad, though that it wasn't written from "participation" and that "space is well filled with love and A-L-L that goes with it". Well, I'll hush before I have another of my long-winded replies typed here. Hee!Hee!! Thanks for sharing your talent. ~~With Love And Hugs To All~~ |
