Wishing is not Dreaming

wishing is not dreaming
it’s merely “pie in sky”
it conjures up
what might-have-beens
while hope of which
runs dry

for one is not compelled
to move
toward wishes they comprise
but rather sit
in mournful pose
in tears from deepened cries

for wishing
calls not efforts
to gain the golden ring
but merely ponders
miracles
of realms not of the King

yet seeking for the dreams
in line
with what is best
can bring fruition
to one’s life
and fill one’s heart with zest

while zest
can bring about the goal
and wishing only lust
for that which one wishes
while dreams
are turned to dust
