Luna's Whispers

Standing on lakeside dock in wait
as thickening clouds slowly slipped by,
blowing softly were nighttime winds
in chilling eve of October skies.

In awe of nights splendor we watched
Luna performing her special dance
held in brilliance of this sight
we fixated, becoming entranced.

Magical play at waters edge
moves with grace of artistic ballets
the dance performed to perfection
she laughs at clouds obscuring our gaze.

Brightly then Luna's smile breaks out
across the clearness of autumns eve
and with sly wink Luna does whisper
"All that you have to do..........is believe"

If I have touched one heart through my words, then I have acheived my dream...

Donna! This is so very very beautiful and oh so special!
This closing stanza gave me goosebumps!
Especially the last line.

Incredibly moving piece...love it!

I don't think I can even begin to tell you how much I enjoy your poetry, but I can tell you this, you have your own ring binder at my house now for rainy nights, and are in good company with some other wonderful poets from here. Beautiful, simply, beautiful.

I am sorry that I haven't been around as much, I have been out ill and am just now getting back.
I thank you all for such kindness of replies and am thrilled that you all enjoyed. It was a beautiful night and it seemed as though the moon was playing amongst the clouds. It was lovely!
