There are times, too many to number when I have wrung my hands in the hope of finding myself in the motion of skin over skin and the feel of me. This is a period of reflection, a small moment of paralyzed thought, where a picture of the past will pound upon my mind... too much for me to contain, bringing motion to my hands. The nervous touching of self for reassurance, for warmth, and that bond with the inner spirit that can only be felt with security, when the connection of all the parts is made strong from deep within. Yet..a nervous twitching motion that sometimes unsettles the space around me, to the point of isolation with barrier of vulnerability neatly in place. And I have to wonder does this make me not only old, but eccentric too. WhiteRose 10/30/02 "my reflection becomes me" |

![]() (smiles) I believe to be a poet all alone is eccentric and to captivate such a thought as though freeze-framing it is delightful as we create photo-albums of dreams and visions together! (sigh) This is lovely, sweet friend, I love it, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Anne, thank you for sharing! ![]() May love and light always shine upon you! WhiteRose - I liked your thoughts in this write. 'And I have to wonder does this make me not only old, but eccentric too.' I believe it doesn't make you old but better. And eccentric, I like eccentric. Nice write BC |

Great Poem, What might be thought as eccentric to one person may not to another. It all comes down to how one visualizes their own quest in life, as to how they will equate others in life around them. As to being old, that again as I think of it can go along with the above also. Thanks for making me think this morning, and for sharing your talent here with us ![]() |

I looked eccentric up in the dictionary; a very exceptional word. As it applies to your writing, I like how you use it. Thank you. etoodog |

Anne, Your descriptive powers are wonderful, for I've seen many elderly touch their hands in exact way you've mentioned. I like: "...finding myself in the motion of skin..." It doesn't make you old, it makes you ~human~. If you look closely enough, small children do this as well.... disguished amid other small nervous motions, yet I believe in effort of finding or feeling that connectedness. Your observations and ability to write of such are terrific.... Enjoyed this a great deal! Hugs and warm regard, Pat ![]() ..without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.. |
