Thanks so much Noah... We did... we had a wonderful time. I didn't know what Kathy looked like, but luckily she had seen the pictures of David and of me, and as soon as he got out of the car... she came running over to us... It was lots of fun!  ~ loving hugsLyra |

Thanks Nancy... I sort of committed my house and myself for the next poet meet next April... but I will have to see how my health holds up. I believe that this website has encouraged the growth of relationships, literally, around the world. How pleased I am to see caring, compassionate people reach out and embrace one another. We have different viewpoints, different outlooks, but still, we all have a common thread...humanity. Thank you for sharing this, Lyra. This is yet one more poem to prove that not only poetry lives on...but that people care. |

As the old commercial put it, "You've come a long way, baby..." Lyra, I have read your poetry for about two years now, and although your earlier work was impressive, your work now seems to be more...I don't know...natural or maybe it seems to me to be written much more effortlessly. |

Lyra and Kathy - If you two don't stop this dialog, ol' Long John's gonna get all misty eyed (seriously). That's one thing you don't wanna see, a curmudgeon with misty eyes. I'd have to save face by writing some "sweet" poetry about you fine ladies, and we don't want that, do we? BTW - That poem was very sweet. |

Marti... thanks so much for your reply and especially for your confidence... Right now, I feel pretty good... I've switched from crutches to a cane and I've been doing aggressive physical therapy 3 times/week... But if I don't get some kind of systemic treatment soon.... specifically the cancer vaccine... I really probably won't see April, or I may see it very dimly through pained eyes... so if you are going to pray, please pray that I get the vaccine and that it works... and btw... if I am still here in April, I will expect you as a guest... Boston isn't all THAT far away... I think it might even be closer than April ~ hugs from striped garden pest hoping for a miracleLyra |

Donna... thanks so much for all of those prayers... I do feel them and perhaps its why I continue to feel so good even as my scans say that I'm not... On Monday, I have an appointment at Vanderbilt University for a second opinion as to what to do for treatment now that there are no options left...
