She steals upon the earth to watch us bask in Summer's sky Vivacious in her splendour set to dazzle human eye And as the days fade silently into some lost desire She paints with skill the colours of her fire... The greens we see around us have been pleasing in their time Through days of picnic baskets yielding loaves of bread and wine But Autumn has her duty to replace that soothing green with strokes of colour as we've never seen... Within the drying crackle of the leaves touched by her hand are reds and golds that catch the eye and heart of every man for children, she will put her leaves upon the earthly floor Those memories they will keep forevermore... The painting now is done The winds are howling 'round the eaves as Autumn's fire has turned into the smell of burning leaves A vortex she created just to ease us gently through From red and gold to Winter's grey and blue... Pen how you truly feel... it is a safety-valve for the soul! [This message has been edited by Sunnyone (10-29-2002 10:40 AM).] |

Oh, garysgirl, I am so glad that you liked it. I've started dabbling in a new form of poetry, where you write to the picture...it's a great exercise, and I like basing my art and the poetry on the same thought. Thank you so much!!! Pen how you truly feel... |

The poem is golden and warm, with the real feel of fall. Well done! But for some reason, I haven't been able to get the picture, just that annoying little red x-in-the-box. |

Hi MS, and thank you much. I know that I also get that little red x in the box sometimes, and all I can connect it to is that maybe your connection is slow. I'm on broadband now, so I don't get it as much, but when I was on a phone line, it was pretty awful. That part of the computer works escapes me!! Hope you get it, but if you can't, it will be uploaded to my website in about a week. Thanks again, my friend! Pen how you truly feel... it is a safety-valve for the soul!
