Thank you Poet deVine... it's been awhile, I must say I almost forgot about this site, but now I remember how much I like it. Christopher- it wasn't meant to hurt.lol I was reading the punctuation in poetry thread in the English Workshop forum and this is what resulted. |

Red, this was interesting to me. But, until I read your explanation in your reply to Christopher, I thought of something entirely different. I thought of how I can't tell, sometimes, if poet's are writing from "OBSERVATION", "INSPIRATION", or actual "PARTICIPATION". Maybe I'm not supposed to be able to tell the difference?!? I don't know. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Love To All, Ethel |

garysgirl-- maybe the difference doesn't matter?? Who knows?? ![]() I suppose I was writing from observation here.. reading through the English workshop thread got me thinking and I guess I think that while punctuation can help lead to something more, some greater meaning in a poem or whatnot, I believe it to be constraining and I'd like to think that words are freer than that and are where the true 'voice' of a poem is found.. again, who knows? Thanks for replying, I'm off to bed, have a good evening!! |

![]() (smiles) Oh Melissa, this is excellent, sweet friend, I do love punctuation in poetry in certain instances but I agree too it could be distracting to the depth of ones own heart in it and it is the voice and the purity of ones thoughts that matter most! (big hugggssssss) This is excellent, sweet friend, I love it, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Melissa, thank you for sharing! ![]() May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..." |
