I think I need new glasses
To show the world I know
How to make and keep a friend,
And how to take a blow.

I think I need new glasses,
Ones that show the road;
The easiest trail, one with a rail.
It may help lighten life's load.

I think I need new glasses;
A pair to peer inside.
Loving soul or deep dark hole?
These specs won't let it hide.

I think I need new glasses.
The ones I wear show "now".
The ones I want show future.
The ones I want show how.

I think I need new glasses.
Right now I cannot see.
They will surely help my life,
Just by helping me.
