"I'm Just A Music Man (Singing 'Bout a Woman)" (23/06/03) © 2003 Brian Eggertsen, All Rights Reserved A box on the attic contained some ol' LP's, One with pianoman Jenkin's live at Eddie's. It looks just like he is in his early twenties, It so wierd he's not bold and he's got all his teeth. Put it on track by track until I heard him sing, This right here, this right here very thing... I'm just a music man, Singing 'bout a woman. A lady of the night, A pearl shining so bright. I'm just a man in love, Who can not get enough. Of this girl Mary Jane, Such a sweet sugar cane. I'm just a music man, I'm just a music man, Singing 'bout a woman. I went down to Eddie's just around half past five, And asked did someone do his music down here live. 'Bout forty years back we had this piano guy, Who would play for a full house each and every night. I sat down at the piano began to sing, This right here, this right here very thing... Chorus Eddie said; "would you like a night I could get you one right away." Sure but only if I can sing What Dwight Jenkin's he used to play. Just like this here very thing... Chorus |

Oh Yay!! This poem just got Billy Joel's Piano man stuck in my head! I loved the unique style of this poem, it was so refreashing to see something done so differently yet so well..ahh I just can't get enough of it!! ~Live and Laugh~ Don't look to me for perfection, for I will surely let you down. |
