I love when you smile in the light of a traffic signal on an empty road at quarter to two. The clock in your car is about five hours slow. The streetlights reflect in your eyes when you glance over at me. You put on some music because the silence got awkward. That good kind of awkward that's secretly whispering: "This could be the start of something right." I come to the realization that I don't know how to make small talk. And I come to the realization that I want you more than I ever realized. What they say is true: You know, all that talk of butterflies in your stomach and not being able to sleep or eat and all you do is think about that person. It's all true. We come to our last traffic signal and you smile again. And when we get to my house I say: "Thank you so much." Not just for the ride but for making sure that you smiled at all the traffic signals. |

I agree with the two up there completely! Also I thought it was a great story and a good way to end it. Laura "All that I desire to point out is the general principle that Life imitates Art far more than Art imitates Life." |

THIS WAS SO SWEET!!! IT REALLY MADE MY HEART JUMP . I THOUGHT IT WAS GREAT HOW YOU CHOOSE SOMETHING FROM YOUR HEART TO RIGHT ABOUT YOU KNOW OUTSIDE OF THE USUALL I MEAN YOU PICKED SOMETHING THAT REALLY MOST OF US OR AT LEAST ME NEVER REALLY NOTICED ABOUT MY SPECIAL SOMEONE BUT I THINK I WILL FROM NOW ON. I LOVED ALSO HOW REALITY BASED YOUR POEM WAS EVEN THOUGH IT GAVE THE EMOTIONS ON THE INSIDE IT STILL KEPT WITH WHAT WAS HAPPENING ON THE OUTSIDE.ANYWAYS THE POINT IS I LOVED THIS POEM IT WAS AN AMAZING PIECE OF WRITTING AND I HAVE NOTHING BUT POSSITIVE THINGS TO SAY ABOUT IT. KEEP WRITTING AND ILL CONTINUE TO LOOK FORWARD TO READING YOUR POEMS!!! |

I just want to say that you did SUCH an amazing job with this poem. I loved it! There is an innocence about new love that I think gets lost b/c people have bad experiences and turn bitter or skeptical. But you've captured it here and perfectly described the rush and excitement just from sitting next to someone special on the drive home. Awesome job! (hugs!) The day you were born, you were born free |
