We long to touch the countless stars they did, they touched heavens out boundries We watched in silence as their craft fell from the sky like a shooting star Never knowing their names But, each heart broke for they names heros The mothers, fathers, sons and daughters on a mission doomed to fail How ironic that we would never know their names if their final minutes weren't filled with doom Now, every name is etched on our hearts Their smiles from the last picture on our mind Their lives an endless journey to make reality what we only dream They look at the sky and wanted more To fly with the stars, touch the planets Knowing the risk was part of the job Their heads held high as they walked down the ramp to the shuttle leaving their friends and family with a last moment With open arms they touched Gods face as the shuttle burst to flames minutes away were their families waiting for them to come home, but, they took a detour to Heaven *Thank you to the countless astronauts and your families. The risks you take and the research you do will lead mankind to another giant leap. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the seven. Thank you for your strength and sacrifice. God bless* " I think I got a tan from the light in which i was basking." |

Malloree~ This is such a touching tribute to, not only the seven who died aboard the Columbia, but to all astronauts who risk their lives to explore the places we only dream of. So beautifully done, Malloree. Thanks so much for sharing this. ~Vicky "...until you have read the verse on his heart, |
