Listen and Believe

with all the things i have been through
with all the things i teach
i find myself looking in the mirror
trying to listen to what i preach

i say you never really know someone
until that someone is lost
i say never hold on to long
yet i am the one that held on for all costs

i say always listen to your heart
this i did do right
but i also listen to your intuition.....
near the end my intuition was all i seemed to fight

why didnt i know then what i realize now
it would have saved my heart from breaking
and taken the wetness from my eyes
i guess these realizations were always in the making

i now tell myself to move on
i now listen to my own words
now that i can look back at what i ignored
my actions were absolutely absurd

so if you listen to your heart
and let reality set in
you may see things that are hidden
bring them into the open so your heart is able to win

Great poem! I REALLY loved this one!! Wow!
I especially liked the line, "yet I am the one that held on for all costs."

This was a nice piece.

Great meter, a good flow, and it wraps up at the end, culminating the beginning and all other parts. It definetly shows a talent. Keep working at it.
