Hello to all!! I was a little under the weather yesterday and so am behind in my reading,so bear with me while I TRY to catch up. This poem needs a little introduction I think, least you all think badly of me.. A few years ago my husband and I were extrememly overworked and having lots of problems. He worked days and I, nights. Instead of coming home to everyone sleeping, I took to visiting the local bar to wind down after work...One night there were two old men sitting there..this is their tale as I saw it.. A Bar's Tale Two old men sit at the bar What are they living for? The next beer The next shot What do they talk about? Sex Old dreams Past regrets Penny candy Time What does it come down to? Wasted lives? Unfullfilled dreams? The longing is obvious The past is not present Yet they live.. In the past Holding onto the lost Holding onto the dreams Unattainable now... Yet still, they hold on And reminice Chat about old times And live in the past How I hope to escape such a fate.. Yet here I sit At this bar Drinking Listening Learning? Maybe. The lesson is there.. For all who would learn it... |

Yes, much can be learned from that experience. Personally, I am thankful that I have never turned toward that environment to kill time in my day.... Always seems the same crowds, talking about the same things...going no where fast... I think you saw this... and wrote of it well... Thanx.. |

Tammy, the stories (replies) you hear at PIP are much more interesting than the ones you hear in a bar--don't you agree! Of course you do! That is why you wrote this insightful piece. Linda |

(big hugggssssss) Oh Tammy, I know just how you feel and I too always cry out to those who get trapped in that kind of stale environment! (sad sigh) I hope everything works out for you both soon, sweet friend, my thoughts are with you, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Tammy, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..." |

Some people don't bring this much back from a bar... you did. Well done. |

Tammy - you write well of lessons, of the bar. To drown sorrows, forget troubles, but not the place to be for this... BC |

Thanks to everyone for reading this. Linda..I TOTALLY agree, which is why I'm "here" instead of "there"... Noah..talk about a beautiful heart dear friend..your love shines brighter than the sun and your words are more precious than gold. Thanks for your thoughts. And know that everything DID work out for me..I quit MY job..we had a baby boy..and all is right with the world..well..not with the world maybe, but I can hope can't I? Peace, love, light and happiness TAmmy |
