She sits at night feeling so alone.
Praying that her husband will soon be home.

Once in awhile she`ll stare at the door.
Then she remembers he`s fighting a war.

She knows in her heart he`s doing whats right.
But she gets so lonely especially at night.

He`s fighting for freedom all the way.
She`s hoping for a letter almost anyday.

She sits there thinking of the love he brings.
When all of a sudden the doorbell rings.

She opens the door and a soldier stands tall.
She could swear she saw a teardrop fall.

"I`m sorry to inform you he started to say"
"Your husband was killed this past Sunday"

He died saving another man`s life.
But before he died he said please tell my wife.

"She has always been the most important thing to me"
We will be together again I truly believe"
