As the winds rippled the water Distorting the perfect reflection Gravity fought to restore its clarity To mirror the serenity of perfection But seldom are things gong to stand so still That my eyes will rest in that peace Of the silence of such solitude For changing pictures are in natures power Storming along the terrain of ever changing seasons Aging with silence of numbness of changing tides Erosion will take away my youth Leaving a skeletal remain Which will be washed away to the dust of memories Yet the image of that perfect image keeps haunting me Wanting it to stand still so I can capture its glory But life’s wrinkles will never be set free In a fountain of youth D.Lester Young (08/30/02) Tuscaloosa, AL Copyright © D.Lester Young (White Eagle poetry) |

TOE, you so silly! *giggle* Loved the poem...and was pondering it deeply through reading. I like the way you see things. |
