A Child’s Life A child’s life is full of too many things during all the early years while they grow. With a golden voice when an angel sings sweetest notes always high and never low. They worry 'bout the very least of what would normally be a part of our day. They remember all that which we could not because that is the child’s very own way. They keep their toys in silly little piles which are seldom where they really should be. They ride on their old bikes for miles and miles and oft fall and skin an elbow or knee. They're often told to brush their teeth or hair or pick up the dirty clothes from the floor. They do those things only a child would dare and always come up with at least one more. They talk and babble a minute or two and sometimes make so little or no sense. Leaving me sitting, wondering what to do because by then I feel so very dense. Their faces always reflect every mood whether when they are happy, hurt or sad. They sometimes sit, eating only bits of food especially during times when they're not glad. They take a no soap bath and get things wet, seldom ever pick up or mop the floor while making us wonder what’s to come yet if we have looked behind the bathroom door. They always love us no matter how much we’ve said they are wrong or having been bad. Giving us a great big hug or wet kiss when their own day has been too long or sad. They often fall asleep on the den floor in front of a meaningless TV screen. Still lying there when I come in the door, looking so innocent, peaceful, serene. They are children born innocent and pure trusting in us for all that they will need. Hoping that our love forever endures and always forgive them every wrong deed. Re-post.....My first serious poem ever.... written about three years ago.... |

![]() (big hugggssssss) God Bless You, sweet friend, I always cry when I think of children because they are Gods most beautiful creation to me and they are so loving and innocent yet it makes me sad seeing children have to cope in a sad world like this and I pray they can walk on with smiles! (sigh) This is sooooo touching, sweet friend, I have to add this to my library because children are so special and I would love to share this with many others who do too, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Barry, thank you for sharing! ![]() May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..." |

Very touching and true picture that you paint of a child's life dear Magnus. I enjoyed this read to-night. Chris ![]() Life is not measured by breaths you take, but by moments that take your breath away. |

What a lovely poem! My sentiments exactly and you expressed them so well! If all children were cherished as much as the ones (yours?)in this poem, there would be more love in this world. I'm pleased that you brought this poem back out into the light again! Love, Light & Laughter Linda |

Wow and stuff like that, Magnus!!! You don't EVEN want to know what my first attempt at pro-poetry was like. Tedious, overblown, yadda yada ..*smile* Nothing as wonderfully spoken as this, which covered all the rhythms of youth in one beautiful song. jeff |
